Taiwan Vibracoring Project – dredge sediment sampling at old WW2 site

Gravity field lead Mike Duffield had the opportunity to travel to Taiwan to work with a local  company, CPDC Engineering on a sediment core sampling project in preparation for dredging. CPDCE purchased one of Gravity’s custom RIC-6500 vibracore systems and we assisted them in set-up, training and over-site of operations.

The project took place in an old Japanese chemical factory that was bombed in WWII. Mercury and Dioxin were the two major pollutants in the pond that we were sampling. We finished ahead of schedule with 38 locations in 6 days.  Great project and excellent local crew!
